Argument Begets Friendship

I have a knack for befriending people of all ages. Starting from my grandfather's pals to my ten year old cousin's school friends, I am friends with everyone.

Few days ago, I met a very interesting 14 year old online. But the way I met her is a little unusual.

I had left a comment on my eleven year old cousin's status on Facebook (my prime function in Facebook is to keep my young cousins' activities under strict surveillance) and completely forgot about it until I was reminded by notifications of someone's comments after mine.

I was already a little agitated that morning and reading the comments caused a fuse to blow up somewhere in my head. As I skimmed the two comments posted under mine (both posted by a girl who couldn't be much older than my cousin), I could feel my muscles tightening. Red with rage (teeth grinding, hands shaking) I gave her a big hard-to-swallow piece of my mind in reply.

Apparently and to my astonishment, she came online soon afterward and put down two more comments against mine. I, without ado posted another to which she replied quicker than I thought she would. Not ready to take beat from a kid, I put up my third and she argued back like a well matched rival. Soon it turned into a duel, a verbal combat.

no i live in america. and safa is shamayels cousin. so i live in the same apartments as shamayel.. and safa is like my best for the next year. sort of. i guess... no one my age really lives here... except this one kid named azfar who is actually shahrukhs best friend :P. a university lecturer. thats very cool.

thats ok :) i kind of got off the wrong side of bed this morning. otherwise, i guess i wudn't have made such a mountain out a mole hill... before starting as a Uni lect. i was teaching at a junior high. i have a lot of frends ur age (talking abt my studenst, we are real frendly). me not too old tho, only 24. lol! yu take care. hope to c yu around..

The first commencement of the duel was made at 6:38am. The hostilities continued for 4.13 hours. At 10:51am we were overcome by decency. The peace-making ceremony went on till 8:57pm.Then after a whole day of sleaze-throwing followed by peace making, I added Monika as a friend on Facebook. Now through our regular exchange of wall posts we are realizing how much we have in common (both of us love noodles, the color green and to read and and write).

Thus, this is how an argument begot a friendship I am immensely happy about, and which i know will grow with time. Cheers!
